So, why for some of us does lasting photographs of our families and children seem so expensive and underappreciated?

This will not apply to everyone but some of you will just not understand the difference between a professional photograph and one you may have taken yourself. Some of you may have the question “Why do I want to go and spend x amount with someone to take photographs of my children when we take photographs all the time on our I phone and digital camera? We must have over 500 photographs on my computer of our little children. We live in a world where digital photography is too easy. Perhaps it has made some of us not appreciate the work of true artists who specialise in photographing lifes moments.

I assure you and I know many on my fb fans who follow my work really do appreciate beautiful photography which has meaning to it but sometimes people cannot justify spending money on it. I’d like to show each and every person why it’s not expensive to have your family photographs taken because you are making a LASTING INVESTMENT.

Iv’e been thinking alot recently about how photographers can vary in price vastly and how this must seem so confusing for people looking to book their photography. In particular my post is directed to portraits. I decided to show you why Jade Langton-Evans Photography offers a fantastic investment for clients. I want to show you “What you are actually paying for” when you book a session with me. I feel it’s important to be really honest and upfront with my clients and so my pricing is all upfront and you know exactly what we offer before you commit to booking with us. I want to show you a break down of what actually goes into each of my bespoke sessions so you can see why I charge what I do.

- Chatting over emails throughout the process (1-3 hours)

-Planning session/meeting/phone calls/ (2-3 hours)

-Prepare equipment, props, and pack car for session (1 hour)

-Travel to session/arrive early and scout out location for inspiration/ (varies but around 2 hours)

-The session itself (1-3 hours) sometimes more depending on circumstance.

-Pack car and travel home/unpack car again (1 hour)

-wash blankets/accessories (if newborn session 1 hour)

-Back up photographs safely in 3 different ways (1.1/2 hours)

-Editing Process (10-15 hours )

-Prepare and plan for viewing session and on day viewing (1-3 hours)

- Preparing orders, could mean albums design, file preparation, uploading to lab, collecting and delivaring to framers, collections and wrapping. (1-4 hours)

-Not only are you paying for all this time you are also paying for a style of photography that you love. You are also paying for  my expertise, training, equiptment, creativity.  As a photographer I also have bills to pay, insurance to pay, a website to host, events to attend, updating and replenishing new equiptment, and tax to pay amongst other things.

I spend on average 30+ hours per bespoke session.

Does this surprise you?

Our collections that we offer reflect the time spent with each of our clients and they also include a product and either a selection or the full collection of edited digital files. Now we are not just talking about a CD here people. A lot of people cannot understand how putting images on a CD costs money. We are talking about beautifully taken images with care that give YOU the option to share/print/use the file in MANY ways. This means I am losing print sales of single images you may have purchased if the file was not sold. But it’s not a shoot and burn job for my particular business because many hours and time and thoughtful editing go into each photograph, each moment. And WHY do I now sell files? Because the demand is the highest I have ever seen it, this is the biggest want when booking a photographer it’s the MUST have for most people. However my photography means much more than CD’S and I always sell our stunning products alongside our collections as the finished article is the best part of my job! Our clients LOVE their finished pieces beautifully displayed in their home.

Our session fee is just £100

This amount comes off whichever collection you decide to go for at the viewing once you have seen your photographs. I’m going to show you a breakdown of our largest collection that we offer, as more often than not people want to be able to have their full story of images from their session to keep.

Our Largest collection which includes the full collection of digital files (images on CD) is priced at £550 – A break down of the costs below.

£100 of this is the session fee

£130 of this is the bespoke frame with a beautiful fine art print. (like the picture as above)

£320- (full collection of digital files) Having the digital files means you can make as many prints as you want! There are roughly 30 images from a session but often more which means you are getting each of your images (digital files) for less then £10 each!

Before I sold digital files my smallest print was priced at £20 (and those were unable to be re produced like files) I have found that because of the service I offer, we spend much time making your experience personalised and so our sessions wouldn’t be suitable if you only wanted one or two pictures. By my putting together a finished collection you are taking home the full story from your session at a better investment than if I charged separately for each image I would be charging a lot more. Therefore giving you more for your money, and an end product of your family story to treasure.

In order to book a session we initially just take the £100 session fee. Once you have had your viewing and seen your images this amount comes off whichever collection you decide suits you (We also offer a smaller collection too which includes a smaller selection of images)

Now you have seen a breakdown of my pricing and how much time and expertise goes into each session I’m sure you can now see why what I offer is such  FANTASTIC investment.

Yes, other photographers vary in price to me, but this is how I work out my pricing for my business for the work that I offer for my style, time and expertise. I wanted to share with you something a little different tonight. Different is new and all a little exciting right?

Iv’e become so happy and set on photographing outdoors as it’s really my style of photography completely that it’s really been the bad weather we have had last year and having to re schedule quite a few newborn sessions because it was too cold that has made me realise that I can still create beautiful images but in a slightly different way. I have decided to photograph lifestyle sessions for bump, newborns and little ones indoors where there is beautiful natural light for me to work with.

When the weather just is not complient for outdoor sessions I am now giving this option. Sometimes trying something new can be daunting, I have my comfort zone of being outside and I’m so used to working in all sorts of weathers but I wanted to try something.. so my gorgeous clients the Horton Family invited me to their home to capture the first part of  their bump session. We decided to use their bedroom and living room as these were filled with gorgeous natural lighting for images.

It was a little strange doing a portrait session indoors at first but I soon set right into it at the Hortons lovely welcoming home. Iv’e worked with them several times before and we have become great friends so it was lovely to spend time with them again with their second bump and their gorgeous growing little boy who was full of beans!

I decided to shoot this session in black and white. Firstly because when I’m outdoors I usually have a clear backdrop, whereas inside there’s a lot more things that can become distracting so I decided to focus on black and white shooting and capturing those beautiful raw moments.

We stopped for a little break and some lunch which just lovely! and then gorgeous Mr Arthur decided to have a little dog ride on poppy! I loved that we involved the dogs Poppy and Lunar as they as such a big part of the Horton Family.

I think this photograph says it all about this family. Jerry, Luke, Arthur and the doggies so happy, loving and a wonderful family. It’s been so priviledging to work with them so many times and I am looking forward to meeting again for your outdoor bump and newborn session!

Today’s post is about Preparing for your photo shoot if you have a fear of the camera. Kids get nervous and shy but so do us adults too! Now I come across people all the time who say “I hate my photograph being taken” 99.9% of those people are men. Whether it’s couples shoots, family shoots, You can guarantee that the lady will always say to me that she’s a little nervous but the partner/dad really hates being in photographs. On some occassions the parents will only have the children in the session as they feel that they would get more enjoyment from seeing their children in photographs without them. Now as a photographer I am not camera shy at all but have felt awkward in front of a camera before on occassion when someone has been right in my face giving me orders with a big camera That would put anyone off, but my husband really hates having his photograph taken. If he’s told smile for the camera or put on the spot..he can’t stand it.  He just ends up pulling a ridiculous face! However if we are in the experience of being in a photo session where we are just being together and having natural photographs taken he is totally fine! (mostly!)

Why do we feel nervous about having our photographs taken?

1- We don’t like the way we look in photographs

2- Don’t like someone in your face with a camera/freeze when you see a camera near.

3-Feel uncomfortable with certain features such as weight etc

4- Not sure that you need to act/be a certain way

We all have feelings of unease sometimes, or don’t like the way we look at certain angles, it’s human nature to pick at the things we don’t like about ourselves. To be in the position where you feel that someone is photographing you when you are not comfortable with yourself is truly awful and doesn’t really help your confidence at all does it? Moments that naturally occur when we are happy, enjoying life show those real emotions in your face and bring true smiles. Genuinely this is what I look for and want to show within my work. When you don’t realise you are being photographed when you are happy these naturally occurring moments are always the best.

What can I do to feel more confident before our session?

Every photographer has a different way of working. Some create more posed images and others very natural. My advice and tips if you are feeling nervous before a shoot:

-The best thing you can do is BE YOURSELF. You may not feel completely relaxed when we first meet on the day of the shoot, we all take time to get into our comfort zone. I quite often don’t shoot straight away but just chat and walk and quite often play games with the children. Or generally have a laugh!

- Don’t worry about where the camera is. If you are constantly aware of the camera the likelihood is that you won’t relax. The best thing I say to do is concentrate on who are having the shoot with. If it’s a couples shoot and you are with your partner then I’ll usually tell you to focus on them, talk, be playful, snuggle up, walk together and the feeling of uneasiness will start to slowly go.

Because of the type of personalised sessions we offer the likelihood will be that we will be in a place you are familiar with or doing things related to what you enjoy as well. If we are in a family session then I will encourage you to play and interact with the children and when they are happy it always put you in a more positive and comfortable state of mind. I do offer some encouragement and instruction throughout sessions but they are to let you know things are going well and trying new things out.

We have a little guest post from two clients and how they felt extremely nervous before their sessions and how they managed to over come them. Big thank you to Paul for his input below. It’s really nice to get a male opinion of a photo session first hand after their experience.

So after getting engaged, my fiancé  and I wanted some really nice photos to remember this time. I’ll be honest, I hate my photo being taken, ill do anything to avoid it! But, sometimes we have to do these things. As Jade is such a great and close friend of ours, there was only one person we wanted to do it.
We met on a Saturday morning, at a location that we both loved. I really felt for jade, I was being so wooden in front of the camera you probably couldn’t tell the difference between me and the trees!!!! But, jade being jade, was just lovely. I was constantly put at ease, told not to worry and just be myself. It did take sometime, as I thought I needed to ” pose” for each picture. But, with the constant reassurance, I became relaxed and myself and was able to just enjoy being with Ruth whilst Jade was very casually photographing us. By the end of the day, I was loving being in front of the camera, and didn’t want it to end! I felt so relaxed, we were having photos taken in a busy public area, a beautiful land mark where we live which were really special to sus. We are now counting the days to our wedding, and we are so pleased that jade will be there to picture it all. This time, I won’t need to ” pose!”

Here’s the lovely Tanith who I met back in 2012 who had a real fear and concern about being photographed.

Over the years our family album had grown and pictures soon filled the walls but it soon became apparent that I was always the one holding the camera why???? because I hated being in the pictures but it dawned on me that in the years to come I was not going to be a part of these shared memories!

My first experience of a photo shoot was with Jade in May 2012. Jade had arranged for us to meet at the beautiful location of Pistyll Rheaedr. Before the shoot I was still feeling quite nervous about being in front of the camera and traveled to the location with butterflies in my stomach.We arrived meeting up with Jade and her assistant Adam (who I have to say are the nicest people you will meet).The whole experience of being outdoors made the shoot so much less formal than an indoor studio photo shoot. Walking around taking in the stunning scenery and chatting away like old friends the feelings of anxioiusness soon disappeared and Jade snapped away with her camera..capturing images of us as a family. Jades fun personality/style made me feel at ease throughout the whole experience, one of which we are now able to treasure with the beautiful images Jade managed to capture. The second time I had the privilege of having Jade as our photographer was for our wedding in Oct 2012, this time there was no nerves of being in front of the camera. I’m so happy that Jade helped me overcome my initial fears of being in front of the camera and I will be able to treasure these memories for years to come with the beautiful images we have. I also cant wait until our next opportunity for a photo shoot with Jade.

Tanith’s tips:

My advise to any other camera shy people wanting or even thinking about booking a session is to DO IT! Really though on a serious note my biggest bit of advise would be to talk to your photographer about your feelings let them know what your likes/ dislikes, do’s and dont’s! I found I was able to share with Jade all my personal concerns about doing the shoot, taking everything on board Jade captured our session wonderfully, and not once did I feel uncomfortable during our shoot. And the end result has provided us with some truly amazing pictures which really do make me SMILE, one’s I will enjoy sharing in years to come.

I do hope this post has helped those who have booked shoots already and may have some nerves, also those who are thinking about booking but their fear is playing a big part.

This is my second blogpost (of I’m not sure how many yet) all related to planning and preparing for your session with Jade Langton-Evans Photography. So I think to follow on from my first post this post will be dedicated to choosing your location for your session. The reason why I have decided to prepare you for your session with these blogposts is that this time of year from May-November has such an abundance of beauty and I know a few people were sad last year that they had missed a particular place in bloom, so I am going to share with you all of the gorgeous types of places that are available and gorgeous for shoots!

Snowdrops. A much colder time of year but I had to put these in as we shoot sessions all year around and snowdrop season in February/March is so pretty and magical.

March/April time is when we hope that Spring fills us with new colour and growth. I love it when all the different types and colours of daffodils come out and greet us with their prettiness.

The gorgeous Vicky having her photographs taken below in the blossoms. Blossoms are out in early May/June and make a stunning floral backdrop.

The beautiful Yellow rapeseed fields which I just ADORE every year are usually about in April, However they have been a little later this year and are coming up now in May which I think is due to the bad weather we have had. Such colour and vibrance makes for stunning photographs! Such a beautiful backdrop. I’m hoping one of my little newborns is here within the next couple of weeks as I am desperate to get some mummy and baby images at this beautiful place!

Later on in May the bluebells start popping up in the beautiful woodlands. Very whimsical images can be created. The light through the forest is absolutely stunning at times too.

When Summer arrives July/August there are many numbers of gorgeous wild flower fields as lush long grass.

Beautiful field of Wild Daisies looks so beautiful!

The colours and vibrancy look beautiful in the field of Bright yellow Dandilions.

When the wheat/barley is growing I love the textures and softness they bring to photographs around this time. August/September.

Any time of day looks beautiful. The newborn shoot above we photographed early evening for really soft, pretty lighting.

One of my very favourite summer locations for fields is the beautiful red poppies! Ooozing with beauty they hold a very special place in my heart. These come around the end of July/August and I’m always looking for where they grow as the fields often change from year to year.

October/November

My favourite time of year for the amazing and vibrant colours! This was my busiest time last year and we had an influx of sessions that were all just AMAZING! You can see why from these images below. The light was just stunning along with the beautiful colours. Autumn seems to be quite warm too which helps!

When choosing a location alot of the time it has to do with the time of year, the type of session and  sometimes it is personalised to a special place you go together as a family.

Why is it crucial to book now for Spring,summer and autumn sessions?

Summer and Autumn are my busiest times of year and we always book up really quickly. Due to the type of bespoke sessions I offer, alot of time is spent getting to know you and working together to create personalised images. My job is also very seasonal so this means I will get very busy in the warmer periods of the year when people want to spend more time outdoors. You also have to be prepared if you want your shoot at a particular part of the year to fit it with seasonal fields/locations too. It’s always better to be prepared and ready and fully enjoy your experience.

How can I prepare now for my shoot?

Prepare by contacting me and asking about my availability and pricing. This way you are aware of the time and commitment involved when booking a bespoke session with Jade Langton Evans Photography.

Iv’e been enjoying beautiful country walks near our new cottage home and it’s been truly lovely! There’s been quite a few messages at the moment about bookings with a little concern so I thought it was about time I did a little blogpost to answer a few of those FAQ’s currently.

Yes the weather has been a pain in the behind, we had all of that snow..and then more snow and to top that off gale force winds, rain and more cold weather! It’s certainly put a few people holding off on their session until warmer weather this year. It’s been very hard, actually almost impossible to plan anything!

So to help prepare you for your session and answer those questions of what if? will help ensure that we can have the most amazing time together whatever the weather! (pretty much!)

Since our video we released back in March we have been inundated with the most beautiful messages. Excitement for people who have already booked with us and really feeling very excited for their own sessions and really looking forward to bringing their happiness alive at beautiful locations. Lovely new fans and clients have joined us since too which is just wonderful! We started to book mainly for July and August after all of the crazy weather! Which means we have availability for a couple of sessions in May and we can take on around 4 more sessions for June and also onwards to November…

So what happens if we plan and book our session with you for a particular date and can’t go ahead due to the weather?

When we take your deposit and plan your session date, we head for this date. We keep an eye on the weather a couple of days before and we will confirm the best time to meet you on your day. If the weather is awful ie heavy rain, dangerous in anyway then we would cancel this day and re arrange another date to suit us both. I obviously can’t control the weather but do my best to work around things the best way I can. Due to being an out door location photographer I am very used to being flexible. I only take on a small number of bespoke sessions per month. What this means is that I am dedicated to you and I will only take on your session on any one day. This also means I can be flexible when we have to change dates due to the weather. However this does not mean that if the weather isn’t exactly how you want it that I can change the date!

Unexpected rain on the day turned into some very cute photographs of this lovely family…

What if the weather looks great on the day and then we have a downpour mid session?

This has happened! and on a couple of occassions it was pretty magical! When I arrived to meet these two gorgeous girls the weather was absolutely BEAUTIFUL, 10 mins into preparing their picnic we had a downpour! I was prepared with about 5 huge brollies (always in the boot of my car!) which we put in the trees above the picnic. I had said to the mum of the girls that if the rain didn’t stop I was happy to come and meet them another day. The girls however seemed to love it and there was a little sparkle in their eyes at having a little umberella den.. the rain did cease shortly and we had just drizzle but it was SUCH a gorgeous session. Some things are just meant to be!

The shoot turned out just beautifully and we were all really thrilled with the results!

We also had a family who came from France for their session and it was scheduled to rain but it was the only day we were both available but they said they didn’t mind, they knew that I would use the weather to my creative abilities and that we did! whilst the downpour was happening in a beautiful field of poppies the family were so very happy huddled under and umberella tucking into their picnic of fresh bread and cheese. Their togetherness regardless of weather was around them and it really showed in the photographs. The sun came out and we still had lots of time to capture them in this beautiful place.

So don’t let the weather get you down if you are thinking of booking with us. The most beautiful things can happen at the most of unexpected times and I wouldn’t change that for the world! I will shoot in all kinds of weather and sometimes my Favorite kind is getting my wellies on and getting mucky!

The idea behind our new video came from feeling like I really needed to show the world and my clients who I am. People see my images everywhere all over the internet, through people sharing my work etc and although sessions are personal and people love to share my images I really wanted people to meet me in some way and see why what I do is so different and wonderful and feel a connection between me and my work. I’d been planning this idea for a video over a year and a half before it was finally planned,completed and shared so it was a very exciting project that I was just so excited to share. I decided to choose two completely different sessions.

A family session and a childrens session, both in amazing locations and both completely different themes. I wanted people to see who I am and why I love my job so much, not only all the details, time and thought process that goes in behind the scenes but to also how much fun we have and how relaxed and lovely it is to make beautiful memories together. For the childs session I really wanted children and adults to connect with it and I decided on the Gruffalo. I think it’s a truly amazing book and worked so well with the beautiful location that we chose. It gave me so much to think about to really capture how children are and how their imaginations are so wonderful.  The end result is to show people that the love of family and the wonderful imaginations of children can be captured in a beautiful and creative way with someone who really cares about these moments. The audience who have seen the video so far have been so touched by what I do and the love I have for what I do they have felt that connection I so wanted to give.

I am so pleased that I can show this to potential clients for them to truly understand how we work so that they know how important it is to me to capture the true them. The video has also been wonderful for clients who have already booked with us! It has given them alot of excitement for their own families.

So you have fallen in love and found the person of your dreams, got engaged and want to celebrate by having a special wedding day.
Where to start when planning your wedding?
The top three things for planning a wedding tend to be:
-The dress
-The Venue
-The Photographer
The way I see it is you want to look amazing, you want to celebrate in style at a gorgeous location and all these amazing moments need to be captured by a fabulous photographer to suit your style.

There are so many things to think about from finding the perfect dress, perfect venue, the right colours and flowers etc The list is never ending.

How to choose your photographer
There are some factors that you may want to think about when looking for the photographer for your wedding.
What style do you like?
Traditional, documentary, natural, vintage and classy?
Looking at lots of photographers and lots of photographs will give you an idea of the style you like and one that you feel suits you.
Look at lots of images from each wedding to see if the style and quality of the photography is the same throughout. You will be able to distinguish from here a photographer suited to you.

What does wedding photography cost?
The main question for most people tends to be price. I have seen wedding photography range from £100 to £3,500+ Price can have a lot to do with the photographers experience, reputation, quality, style, products and time.

What about an engagement session?
Alot of photographers offer an engagement session. This is sometimes included in a wedding package, other times not. They are a great opportunity to have a session together with your photographer. This will help you feel much more comfortable not only with your photographer but also around the camera and you’ll get used to just being yourselves. This really helps you feel more relaxed for the big day.

Planning a wedding can be hard especially when you are on a budget. It’s worth looking well in advance of planning a wedding of different things so that in your mind you have rough ideas of pricing to keep in mind. Choosing a photographer can be very like choosing that perfect dress, shoes etc including the ranges of pricing. Finding the right style to suit your theme and day can really make a difference in the end product and imagery.

Meeting up with your photographer is a really good idea to make sure you are suited. It also is lovely to feel very comfortable with that person that will be spending your day with you and capturing your moments.

What happens after the engagement session and wedding?                                            When you have your private viewing we will show you our gorgeous products so that you can really enjoy your images in the best way possible. We have stunning stunning bespoke wall art to choose from and gorgeous photo albums/books which we design with you to make them beautifully around your gorgeous imagery.

How do I go about booking you for our wedding?
Please contact us so we can check we have your date available to shoot your wedding day.
We will need to take a £300 deposit (remaining amount to be paid anytime as long as full balance is made a month before the wedding date.) We also require a booking form to be filled in. We also love to meet up where possible to have a chat and make sure that we are a good match.

After having the most AMAZING engagement session with Rhiannon and Daniel and chatting about ideas for the wedding I knew it going to be even more WONDERFUL!

The day of the wedding was finally here, and I’d already been up to the barn to have a look at it’s glorious self, with amazing beautiful views and even a gorgeous lake to enjoy the peaceful views. Rhiannon and the bridemaids got ready at Rhiannon’s parents house (the gorgeous Kitchen is where the pancake shoot happened!)
The gorgeous designs of the dresses, and colours really were perfect for a summer wedding. The little bridesmaids with their fairy like style and gorgeous flower head garlands were just so cute! Rhiannon wanted to stay simple and stylish, and with her gorgeous long hair so beautifully attired she looked like those ladies in the pre raphelite era.
They were married at their Local Church and then we headed off to the gorgeous Barn.. so many beautiful personalised touches to the whole day really made it so beautiful. Fresh flowers were everywhere and made the barn smell gorgeous, The food was also quite something with it’s exotic flavours and so beautifully displayed.. as I was also a guest at the wedding I got to sample all of the amazing foods!! oh my…
It really was a photographers dream, especially for me as quirky weddings and couple are what I look for! The whole area was so beautiful it meant that we had so many gorgeous spots to use for photographs and with all the stunning colours of the clothing it really was just gorgeous.
Rhiannon and Daniel were lovely to photograph, they were so happy and smiling all day and it was just a pleasure to be there with them and share this day.

After an already amazing day the evening arrived and more guests came and a big hogroast was served, live music was played! and whilst the party was going on inside the marquee with the live band they also had a solo artist singer and guitar played who played gorgeous music down the lake which was lit with lanterns and lights!

Oh my..what I can I say! I LOVED every moment!!

YOUR story through imagery in a beautiful and unique way that is personal to you! It normally relates to bringing those little things to life that become your family time, the
quirkier and sillier always better! things can include passions,collections, indulgences, love for special items such as a family quilt or den that can be incorporated into a session.
Each session is completely different and bespoke and unique to you. This is the difference with booking a session with me. I put several hours of time and ideas into your session
to make it amazing!

A session with me really just requires you to be yourself and not worry about anything else. I am there to photograph you as you are, nothing is more important to me than capturing the true story. Whether it’s making dens, dressing up, having a tea party, making pancakes I work with you to find out and put all the ideas together! Sessions can be very simple too concentrating on a beautiful location and the love and happiness of all those involved just being together.

Each session is personalised, unique just like each client is different. Sessions are lots of fun, and we normally take breaks if you have little ones as they get tired etc We always suggest bringing a little picnic along with you too so the kids can have their lunch and feel happy

- Jade’s time, talent and creativity throughout your experience. This includes detailed discussions beforehand via email/phone/meet up if you wish to create a beautiful personalised session with the help of Jade’s creative vision.

- Processing of the images in Jade’s unique style.
- Private viewing and ordering session where your final images will be presented to you (This takes place roughly 2-3weeks after your session.)

How do I go about booking a session with you?

In order to book a session we require a booking form to be filled in. We also require a deposit of £100 (session fee cost) This amount comes off the collection/package you decide to go for at the viewing session. You can also purchase additional products at the viewing session if you wish.

What happens after the session?

After the session we will arrange for you to have a private viewing. When you have seen your images for the first time, you can then decide which collection suits you if you are not sure at the point of booking. With all of our collections there are more opportunities to purchase additional images and other beautiful artwork options. We also offer various different sizes and Italian framing options. Jade can help advise you to suit your home furnishings and styles. We discuss this at the viewing where you will see all of your images on a large screen as well as being able to see all of our gorgeous products. At the viewing we take the remaining payment for your order, or part payment if you have had a payment plan for a large order which we would arrange at the viewing. We accept cash, cheque or direct bank transfer.

Pregnancy is a beautiful thing. A woman who glows with beauty and radiance with a new life growing inside her is a wonderful miracle. It should be celebrated and captured. Your birth story is such an exciting time and part of your journey in your life experience. I love working with mummies to be and photographing you and your bump looking fabulous. I always involve the father to be and if you have children already it adds to the excitement of the story. Bump sessions take place around 7-8 months on roughly, but every mummy feels differently so we can chat about what you feel is best.

I work mainly on location outside and make use of some of the beautiful natural places around us, sometimes places that go un missed make amazing backdrops for natural photographs. Natural earthy type places are stunning for maternity sessions. A mother apart of nature, long grass, beachy type areas, drift wood and rusticness are always things I look for to make the perfect session.

I can also photograph your story in the comfort of your own home if you prefer to and where the outdoor weather is not complient! I am a big lover of using only the natural light that is available to me. It gives your images a beautiful and fresh feel to them.

If we use the indoors we will choose space in your home that has beautiful natural light for us to work with.

Wrapped, snuggly is sleepy is how we love to work with yummy newborns!

Capturing your newborn baby is one of the most priviledging moments for me. I specialise in capturing beautiful and creative newborn photographs.

The best time for your newborn to be photographed is around 2- 3 weeks old. The reason for this is for us to be able to work with those beautifully curled up poses which can only be created within this time. I understand there can be lots of things happening when the baby is first born which is why everything is scheduled beforehand. We write down your provisional due date and normally get you to give us a call a few days after you have had the baby so we can make sure to have a space for you to create these special moments. They grow so quickly! If you were not able to beforehand book a session for this time we can still photograph little ones but very squishy newborn poses may not be possible after three weeks old, However we can still create gorgeous images!

We love to include you in some of the shots with the baby (mummy and daddy) as these are such precious moments for you to look back on. You may not feel at your best after just having a baby but rest assured I will capture you in such a way that you will feel amazing in my care

I love being able to share these intimate moments with you on a session and love all the happy moments that happen, gorgeous little sweet moments such as holding hands, the children snuggling, pure excitement, sereneness, little yawns from the baby, sibling kissing the new addition to the family. There is no rush with new born sessions and they can take anything from 3+ hours to achieve images, it really depends on the baby. When we decide on a date we ask that you keep this day free so that we have plenty of time to capture your newborn so that it can be a relaxing day for you with no commitments to attend to.

A lot of time can be spent soothing and making the baby comfortable and you will be starting to try and get into a routine and get to know your baby and this all takes time, Sometimes it takes a while to get them settled, every baby is different so I don’t put a time on how long I will spend with you. You will be able to have time to relax and take breaks when needed to change the baby, feed and soothe. I love to bring the baby directly to nature and use stunning locations in order to do this. If you have anything in particular that you have in mind we can discuss this beforehand. We like the baby to have had a very good feed just before you arrive/I arrive so that we can work on getting the baby sound asleep for the session.

How do I go about booking one or two sessions with you for maternity and newborn?
